Tansi, Sony Lab'ou

<b>Sony Lab'ou Tansi</b> (1947–1995) was born in Zaire. He taught English at the Collège Tchicaya in Pointe Noire before joining the Ministry of Cooperation in Brazzaville. He then moved to the Ministry of Culture. His first novel, <i>La Vie et demie</i> (1979), was awarded the special jury's prize at the First International Festival of <i>Francophone</i> held in Nice. He published plays, poetry, and several novels, as well as directing a theatre troupe in Brazzaville.
